Create Directories


Define service name

To avoid confusing the purpose of DB, define service name for DB.

And use service name as name of directory.

service name for this test: MARIASVC

Default directory for purpose

Purpose default directory
DB Engine /engn001/mysvc01/
DB Data /data001/mysvc01/
DB Log /logs001/mysvc01/

Create directories

do this as root.

$ mkdir /engn001
$ mkdir /engn001/mysvc01
$ mkdir /engn001/mysvc01/MARIASVC

$ mkdir /data001
$ mkdir /data001/mysvc01
$ mkdir /data001/mysvc01/MARIASVC

$ mkdir /logs001
$ mkdir /logs001/mysvc01
$ mkdir /logs001/mysvc01/MARIASVC
$ mkdir /logs001/mysvc01/MARIASVC/data
$ mkdir /logs001/mysvc01/MARIASVC/error
$ mkdir /logs001/mysvc01/MARIASVC/binary
$ mkdir /logs001/mysvc01/MARIASVC/slow
$ mkdir /logs001/mysvc01/MARIASVC/relay

Change owner of directories

do this as root.

$ chown -R mysvc01:mysql /engn001/mysvc01
$ chown -R mysvc01:mysql /data001/mysvc01
$ chown -R mysvc01:mysql /logs001/mysvc01
